In 1884, Pierrot Lunaire: Rondels Bergamasques , a collection of 50 poems by symbolist Belgian poet Albert Giraud was published.

Few composers have filmed one another, fewer still have paid for another's recordings.

On Friday, April 19, Nonsemble 6 presents Arnold Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire in the Music Center Recital Hall , UC Santa Cruz at 7:30 and on Saturday, April 20, in the Dinkelspiel Auditorium , Stanford University at 8:00. The Santa Cruz performance will open with new dramatic works by local composers Tobin Chodos and Alexis Olsen.

Conrad Tao will replace guest pianist Louis Lortie, who had to withdraw due to illness, at this weekend's Utah Symphony performances.

The penultimate program in San Francisco Ballet's current season presents an interesting and varied combination of works - one by the Company's Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer, Helgi Tomasson , another by Choreographer in Residence, Yuri Possokhov , and a jazzy Balanchine ballet which has become one of the Company's signature works.
