'Chicago' dazzles, even if it's not perfect
FORT WORTH -- There's no business like show business -- or criminal justice. Both are brilliantly treated as one in Fred Ebb's, John Kander's and Bob Fosse's satirical Chicago.
This task is done so entertainingly in the 1996 revival of the 1975 musical (directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Fosse) that even when the cast isn't uniformly great -- as in the tour that opened here Tuesday -- it's still an unforgettable theater experience. You might even forget the terrific 2002 movie version. Read more
