"Kryptonite" might have propelled 3 Doors Down into the stratosphere, but it's no mystical mineral from the great beyond that has kept the Mississippi rock band in orbit nearly a decade later.

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Holiday Bowl will host a two-hour bowl-a-thon to raise money for the Frankie Fund on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A raffle will be held with prizes.

Friday night, the Coast Coliseum was rocking. Hometown heroes "3 Doors Down" performed to a sold out crowd for "CPR Fest 13." The festival was started by the local radio station WCPR in Biloxi years ago, but it's name and the talent it has propelled has given it world wide recognition.

CPR Fest, the annual rock bacchanal sponsored by 97.9 WCPR FM, has delighted crowds for the last 12 years.

"We're one of the only rock bands in America that gives them any support at all," says guitarist Chris Henderson.
