Legendary Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi announced this week that Gran Turismo 6 will be released Holiday 2013.

When the sixth installment of "Gran Turismo" hits store shelves this holiday season for the PlayStation 3, it will include 1,200 cars, 33 tracks in 71 layouts, a new track editor with 10 square kilometers of scenery, and more ways to connect with friends and rivals.

Held at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in Northamptonshire, the event was led by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, who said the game has been "refactored" since GT5, making it "very flexible and expandable," with a view to making future developments after the game launches later this year.

Gran Turismo 6 is slated for release in December 2013, and boasts 71 layouts of 33 tracks, 1200 cars, a new flexible rendering engine that features adaptive tessellation, as well as a redesigned simpler menu interface with faster loading times.
