This must be the most unbelievable joke of the century!!!
Katrina wouldn't have caused much damage to New Orleans if enough time and money had been spent on fixing the levees which everyone knows needed fixing, that's common knowledge.
They can't sue the government or Nature for negligence, so they're using the get out clause.
They allege that the defendants -- energy, fossil fuels and chemical companies -- emitted greenhouse gases that contributed to global warming, which in turn caused a rise in sea levels that increased the storm's ferocity.
Sea levels that rose due to GW?????
Whatever next?

You could blame corrupt officials for certifying bad levees, or blame climate change. If you were a corrupt politician, which would you prefer?

Just what will the plaintiffs have to prove? Specifically that Katrina was any worse than any other storm in recorded history and that is simply not the case. The only reason that Katrina was as bad as it was was because of where it hit, not that it was exceptionally out of the ordinary. Yes it was a bad hurricane but there have been plenty of bad hurricanes, such as the one that hit Galveston back in the 1930's (I think that's correct) and that killed something like 6000 people, much worse than Katrina. And of course there was Cameille in the 1960's, that was a real bad one to. No, it's sad but true, Katrina was just the latest in a long line of severe storms that have plaqued mankind since the dawn of time and there ain't nothin' nobody can do about it! Like they say, everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it!

My God that is the most absurd frivolous law suit!

If anything sue the Army Corp of Engineers who should have fixed those levees a long time before
Katrina, and their marching orders to build pontoon
bridges, and aircraft landing strips in Iraq!

The second respondents would be all the Civil En-
gineering University staffs in Louisiana whose graduate students could have marshalled their
'residence' skills in doing it themselves! After all what is the point of having Colleges, and Universities?? My God New Orleans is below sea
level in many critical populated areas, with Convention dollars bringing so much business to that ancient historical city, with Shreveport right above it, as the main transit goods portal!

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Libra

An emotional situation is as clear as mud today. You aren't sure about your feelings for a certain someone, nor are you convinced that you know what they're playing at. They may be saying one thing and doing another, and you might even suspect that they're playing games with you or trying to get what they can out of the relationship. Or maybe you're imagining the whole thing? Admit it - at this stage you simply don't know.
