US environmental official admits White House influenced emissions decision

A top official at the US Environmental Protection Agency confirmed that the agency denied strong carbon emissions limits proposed by California after the White House intervened, it emerged today.

But the official, who resigned from the agency earlier this month, told congressional investigators that he was instructed not to reveal whether George Bush or other White House officials played a personal role in the controversial blockage of California's pollution rules.

Typical. The WH acts like business is as fragile as a soap bubble. But when we're all dead who'll go shopping and save the economy from the Republicans?

Well look, dont call it a different name.
We all know that:
1. Never put chemicals down the sink drain.
2. The chemical jar at UC/CalState for disposal might contain anything, take your chances and walk up to it.
3. The school claims to be a non-research school, commuter school,....
4. The masters thesis in the library became a 1 semester class, and the homework answers do not match. Teacher clearly said I was working on it and never fixed it.
5. If ever at UC/CalState during a Math-Chem-Physics lunch meeting. If the other teacher did not understand the other teacher's presentation on x-3*f... it is not a 'your still freshman thing'.
6. If the teacher only gave 1 example, then 3 showed up on the test as in 10 questions total.
7. If the class could never answer pages 2 or 3, the questions took too long, and 1/2 the class dropped out by semester 3.

8. If student repeated the class again the 3rd Physics class. Does that mean the teacher wanted the answer in metric or foot/lbs?

Hate to tell you but natural gas and propane conversion kits on cars and trucks actually work - trouble was charging road use taxes on the natural gas and propane to the point it was a more expensive fuel to use than regular gas. So instead of having water vapor as a by product out of the exhaust most of those have been changed back to regular polluters. Might ask why the taxes were increased and who lobbied for that one? They should have been out on their asses. And that wasn't just California. If you think Bush and his Republicans are environmentally friendy - you are sadly mistaken - they are business friendly and murdering consumers. Stop all tax benefits for American business operating in foreign countries and charge an import tax on the goods if they refuse to relocate back to America. Highly tax all foreign goods till they are competitive with American made products and meet American standards. Stop any more oil leasing till existing leases are developed. And that means more than a seismic survey. No more major consolidations of companies which neither fosters competition or encourages competive prices. This shit needed to stop years ago. Take all energy interests off the commodities market. We have enough Enron's already we don't quite understand. Deregulation does not work.

Um, the WH knows that imposing carbon limits in one state does nothing for the environment, and it also knows that carbon dioxide doesn't cause climate change. Sooo, they were right, and California was wrong. They should be personally thanking GWB instead of lambasting him.

Great Post! I totally agree with you. The more people that realize that the answer is to bring the world up to our standards.. not the other way around the better off the average person will be.

So the "late great welfare state" wants to limit emmissions while it continues to pay people to do nothing but breed more welfare recipients. The crazy thing is that these same people fail to realize that businesses and jobs are what pay the taxes that support those on welfare.

Quote;
"Things will be different after the innaguration."

LOL, like anything has been different since the Dems took office in 2006. The Dems and Reps only care about money and power and neither party cares anything about you, your family, or the environment.

BTW, you can blame the environmentalists for much of the high energy prices we are now paying due to the fact that they, and our "globalist" politicians, continue to keep us dependant on foreign oil. The sad thing is that our politicians, with the help of the MSM, have many people blinded with their propaganda. Meanwhile, the rest of the world is doing everything they can to extract and refine more oil while, at the same time, looking into alternative energy sources.

The bottom line here is that our globalist politicians only want to lower your standard of living to that of the average third world nation. These globalist politicians will, of course, continue to live like Kings and Queens with the free fuel, free transportation, free healthcare, and excessive salaries that we all pay them.

That is how the Republicans accomplish their agenda. They hate Government, so make sure it doesn't work and people will demand it be ended.
