Economists see recovery still a long way off

First the good news: The worst of the painful housing slump and the credit crunch might come to an end this year. Now the bad: The economy will weaken further and unemployment will rise.

The Bush administration is depending on weakness in the economy to keep inflation in check. That's their best strategy as of right now.

of course he knew this was coming just as much as the rest of us...but the president isn't going to walk around and declare the sky is falling and the economy is going to crap.

The president, no matter who is in office, is going to have a positive outlook when the economy is going bad.

Take your obvious bias out of the issue.

"Recovery"? Has the Bush and McCain supporters even acknowledged yet that we have something to recover from?

They stll believe the "we're turning the corner" remarks. Which if true, Bush forget to say he was driving backwards.

From the failures in Iraq to the economy. The Bush/McCain denies there are any problems to be concerned with until you're slapped with the problem. Its because of this reluctance to think they can do no wrong, that they only react to isssues. Instead of attempting to prevent them.

Amazing how many of them thinks Bush's action has made the world safer. Because Bush said so.

lol.. You probably think Housing, Autos, and big purchases like Appliances are loving the Bush economy.

Maybe Bush thinks like you, cause I doubt he knows anyone that's not working. So that means the economy is doing great from his perspective.

I guess you think Gov. economist who say were are in a recession are all liberals.

It's gonna get a whole lot worse as the dollar sinks. Wait till gas is 5 or 6 dollars a gal. and a few more million lose their homes. By the way, none of the candidates are going to be able to do anything about it either, especially the ones that want to make you pay more taxes.

Well, considering that the Economists are continually wrong or did foresee something, the economy will be in recovery before we know it. Of course the Economists will say it was unexpected.

Oooohhh...yet another scare for us to cave into...this so-called inflation is just a P.R scam for the push to the amero..there doesnt need to be an inflation if we dont want one to happen..we the people just need to be smart with our $$$$..only buy what we need...their just scaring us into their plan for more control..they scared Europe into the euro..now its our turn...we can only do so much..so just in case they really do create some huge monetary circumstance..please spend wisely!!!!!!

After 7 1/2 years of a downhill economy, strategy is pretty much a moot issue at this junture.
