JURY HATES PHELPS: Kansas church liable in Marine funeral protest

Finally, that sick disgusting Phelps gets what he deserves.

I hope the family gets the money out of this "church" someday. These people exude ignorance and evil and should certainly not be called a Christian church. This is not like any Baptist church I've ever attended.

Payday! The price of hatred is an expensive proposition indeed at 2.9 million.

It's the ONLY way to shut them up. I remember a woman who's son was lynched by the KKK. Nothing really happened until she brought a civil suit in which she was awarded 30 million dollars (back when that was a significant sum of money). It was VERY effective in breaking them up.

Hit 'em in the pocketbook.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has used civil suits like this to go after hate groups, it's great that this family was successful in their lawsuit against Phelps and his hate klan.

Perhaps now the Phelps clan won't have the money to travel all over the country for their "protests".

I hope this is the first of many successful suits against these vermin.

Yes!!!! Mr. Snyder and the jury members are all heroes in my book, and I pray this case sets a legal precedent that will cause all those who would abuse their First Admendment rights, to pause and reconsider the possible consequences of their actions.

And yes, that goes for persons on every side of any issue!

The great thing here is that it sets GREAT legal precedent. This paves the way for EVERY family they invade to file suit against these hateful swine until they are totally bankrupt.

I hate Fred Phelps as much as the jury and expecially hateful is his mad female foaming-at-the-mouth dog of a daughter, Shirley.

I hope they are all bankrupted for all the trouble they caused for reasons I can't even begin to fathom. And I would hope other soldiers' families will start lawsuits against them as well!!

How about a CLASS ACTION suit brought by ALL the people the Phelps have protested? AHh what a Happy day that would be!

I think Phelps is himself a self-loathing gay. It's his hatred for his inner feelings that cause him to do these despicable acts trying to mock and denigrate the memory of our brave military.
