Roundhouse roundup: Rove episode still echoes in New Mexico

Full story: SantaFeNewMexican.com

Poring over transcripts of Karl Rove's House Judiciary Committee testimony about his role in the firing of U.S. Attorney David Iglesias, I came across lots of names familiar in New Mexico political circles.

I'm glad to see Mr. Terrell working so hard for the Dems. Have you found the connection between Trig Palin and the grassy knoll yet?

and Weh were involved with Rove and his dirty deeds?

But why isn't he in jail instead of telling lies on Fox?

Mrs. D: The part of the bigger story that hasn't been told yet involves those Attorneys that actually did jump according to Rove's marching orders. Kat Nash, Steve Terrell, are ya listening? There's the big one you've been waiting for...
As for our NM GOP, what a piece of work! These vipers are even more screwed up than the Dems.

The big question should not be focused only on the US Attorneys who were fired, but what about the ones who were retained because they went after political prosecutions.

During the Bush years, the U.S. Department of Justice prosecuted seven times more Democrats than Republicans, the hour long film delves deeper than the few high profile cases that have caught the attention of the mainstream media, and instead sheds light on many of the 600 cases brought against Democrats across the country between 2002 and 2008.

Matching up the 2008 competitive states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, maybe not Florida, Colorado, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nevada, Iowa, New Mexico with states in which u.s. attorneys were fired...T]he odds that the fired USAs and Rove’s Politically Important states randomly matching up the way they did are 1 in seven hundred thirty five thousand, six hundred and twenty seven.

With an update from a commenter who offers a more rigorous chi square (?) analysis, we learn...The chances this association are random is less than one in 10,000. http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2007/4/11/9...

Ironically, that should have been the case in the Lewinsky affair but millions of dollars in investigative work by Ken Starr turned a private matter which harmed no one, into a crime

Mrs. D: To pillory any with a cracked ethical or legal compass. Wow--where to begin!

I am a Democratic, campaigning for Democrats from Lyndon Johnson to Barrack Obama. However bad the Republicans are, that is no longer an excuse for going along with a corrupt Democratic party. The scandals that will break in the next few years could help to bring Obama down in 2012.

If the New Mexico Democrats don't clean house -- and that seems very unlikely -- I hold my nose and vote Republican in the state and local level.

Yeah, Reality from CA is a Democrat the way I'm an alien from Roswell.
Both parties are owned by large corporations, particularly banks. Wait and see what kind of bank investment 'reform' emerges from Congress - then withdraw your cash (if they'll let you have it) and buy gold.

At the bottom of his 2nd hour today, Druggie was ranting and railing about the 'Blue Dog Dems' and how if they didn't cooperate with Pelosi the Dems would run a primary opponet against them in the primary and that with the help of "voter fraud by ACRON' beat them.

No wonder dittoheads and foxholes are so ignorant!
They believe that kind of cr@p!

I live in Santa Fe County and I am a Democrat.

Therefore, you are an alien from Roswell. By gold and return to your planet.

On the other hand, you understand an entire issue through a name, a soundbite and a bumper sticker.

They get "healthcare" now. I don't want to pay for someone else's health insurance when I have been working for 40+ years and paid my own.
Keep your greedy Socialist fingers off my wallet.
You have no right to the little wealth I've accumulated.
I'm taking care of myself and my children. Do the same.
