He without sin throw the first stone!
Yet, Burke still does the Church service by strongly objecting. Abortion IS a trump sin. If there isn't ANY outrage over Catholic political leaders forwarding abortion policy, then the ignorant would assume incorrectly that the Catholic Church doesn't really believe that abortion is a trump sin. For the deeper intellect, though, Burke is not acting as Jesus would have acted. A repentant sinner is still loved, given the opportunity and urgings to repent, and thus, saved by Jesus. Jesus even waits patiently for the sinner to repent. As Jesus does, so should the Church and so should Burke. Burke is not the almighty judge and should not act like one. It is a fine line to walk. |

This particular story, being viewed in
a medical news publication, is out of character for such a venue. The writer uses the word "schism" almost with joy at the controversy. For the record, there is NO SCHISM over this issue. And no-- Benedict isn't being silent because he doesn't know which way to go. He knows what is what. Unfortunately, like I was saying before, it is totally difficult to communicate the Christian principles going on here because 1) no matter what a person says, ignorant minds that filter will twist it all out of shape & 2) it is more than a sound bite worth of teaching! So Fr. Burke PLEASE continue with your strong objection on abortion and O'Malley PLEASE continue teaching as you have been doing---you both are on the same page--- AND maybe, maybe the whole truth will sink into the minds of those Catholic politicians that Abortion IS very DEFINITELY a trump sin! No ifs, ands, buts about it. |

Catholics in MA were desperate for "winners" of the same race and religious background. They found the Kennedys.
As long as the Kennedys personified the worst Irish stereotypes and played religious victims, they voted for them. The family kept power because of MA voters' subconscious self-loathing and bigotry against other religions and races. |

no the Kennedys kept power because they had money
and could afford to purchase the government. |
