1 About 1/3 of the nation's docs belong to the AMA (it does NOT speak for the majority of health care professionals). AND ... members are leaving AARP in droves as a redfult of this endorsement. So, credibility? No, just one more Obamlie. Sort of like when he said that he didn't watch the elctions that confirmed the shortness of his coattails. |

1 Did you know that approximately 20%(yes ONLY 20%) of licensed Doctors in the Unites States belong to the AMA? They probably keep forgetting to tell you that. Personally, not one Doctor I use and no Doctors I know support this. Then again, they refuse to be part of the AM. I wonder why. |

1 I am sorry to inform you that my wife and I will be canceling our membership with AARP to include all services, including life insurance and road service. We are doing this because of your endorsement of the Congressional Health Bill. We are strongly opposed to the planned legislation for these reasons: 1) Abortion coverage is included in the bill. As Catholics, we cannot deal with businesses that take a supportive roll towards the elimination of life. I'm sure you are about to find out that millions of other Catholics MUST take action and cancel their memberships. You see, there really is no CHOICE! 2) The administration's key goal is not to improve healthcare, but to control yet another industry. This regime and their minions will continue on their path towards building a totalitarian state until they are either stopped or they succeed. We all need to recognize their true motives. They are about control and not care! If each member of the opposition reaches AARP with a message like this, they will find it necessary to backpedal on their statement supporting the current bill. They will do this as an attempt to preserve business. You can contact them on aarp.com . |

2 That protest was a mess in DC yesterday...This poster said it pretty good about Boehner Author: lasvegasrose Comment: Having a grandmother who left Germany to escape the camps, I find it highly offensive to see that DACHAU sign. If those people hate the USA so much, I say LEAVE. Since ole Goofy couldn't even recite the pledge of allegiance correctly, how is he any better an American than the rest of we Americans who were properly schooled? And, how pray tell in the name of GOD, did Boehner get elected when he stands us and proceeds to read from the "Preamble to the Constitution?" haha. There is NO preamble to the Constitution. He was reading from the Declaration of Independence!!!! These are the ignorant, fools elected to run the country by their constituents? I was shocked to watch Boehners fellow Senators behind him, nod in agreement as he read the wrong document and the crowds cheer showing their ignorance to what he was reading. GOD SAVE US from false teachers and false preachers. |

No matter what tax bracket you fall into this is going to hurt you. Anyone falling into the middle class may get some relief from premiums from the gov but will still pay more. I still do not understand why I have to take care of everyone else. I went to college for two degrees and worked my way through to pay for both. I worked my way up the ladder by bouncing job-to-job while paying for my own benefits. I set my priorities to live a responsible lifestyle. My reward, I get to pay for everyone else for everything. Another great lesson for youth about taking charge of life and making responsible choices.

Two organizations that are advocates for the senior citizens and for the proper care of our ill both support this bill, though each has SOME reservations on SOME parts of the bill itself. Having quite a few family members in the medical professions, they are all for health care reform, to better care for our citizens, and they believe this bill will help. They are somewhat concerned that capping fees would require them a longer time to pay back their schooling debts, ranging from 60K to 260K.
The issue has become divisive, not because of the medical professionals or the AARP, but because of the political rhetoric and using this as an issue to change political party majorities. Really, these people should be ashamed of their actions, and the behavior of Mr. Boehner is resembling Krystalnacht....When we see the screaming and violent laced signs, and when we see people kill others and claim divine intervention for those actions, how long will it be before neighbor slays neighbor, not for the public good of all, but to become a ruling party? Our lack of civility and caring for our fellow citizens will be a black eye for this country for many years to come (if we can last that long as a country).... |

Not so fast with the AMA. I guess senior leadership endorsed Obamacare without taking a vote of their board. They are voting on Monday to overturn their endorsement. Hopefully this junk bill won't be voted on until next week. I have family in medicine. If this passes they may be leaving the profession. This situation will eventually end up with the government controlling what docs can make thus resulting in lower compensation. Lower compensation = less interest in the profession from youth and/or more docs leaving to practice over seas= less docs. Add this to 36 million new patients and you will have a big mess.
|
||||
If their own sense of responsibility, self preservation, and well being hasn't motivated people to take care of themselves how will patriotism? Patriotism as a motivation? I'm sure if this passes I will hear that from Obama when this mess is over budget in two years and we have no way to support it. |
||||
The AMA only represents approx 20% of ALL doctors and not ALL 20% of them appprove of the bill. AARP will sell supplimental insurance to make up for what the GOV'T plan WON'T cover, once the realize how poorly they CALCULATED the cost of this unpresidented intrusion of the gov't into our lives and business and grasp of control they will gain over us. Not to mention the TAXES 95% of us were PROMISED we would NOT have to pay. Obamanomics is working as planned. 2010 vote them OUT! |

Does this tell you anything? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/07/health/poli... Pelosi is selling out to the lobbyists! Pelosi Faces Competing Pressures on Health Care By DAVID D. KIRKPATRICK Published: November 6, 2009 WASHINGTON — As House Democratic leaders were assembling their health care bill last month, Speaker Nancy Pelosi left Washington on a political fund-raising tour. Accompanying her on the US Airways flight to her first stop, Cleveland on Oct. 2, was a prominent health care lobbyist, Frederick H. Graefe, who represents hospitals, medical equipment companies, a few drug companies and others in the industry. Mr. Graefe had helped enlist some of the half-dozen health industry executives attending a fund-raising dinner that night. All oppose what Ms. Pelosi and many other House Democrats were calling for as the centerpiece of a health care overhaul: a muscular government-run insurer, with the power to push down fees. But the host of the event, which brought in nearly $100,000 for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from about 40 donors, was Stuart I. Garson, a trial lawyer who wants the overhaul to crack down on soaring health care costs and profiteering insurance companies, as he put it in an interview. And the other guests were mostly left-leaning Cleveland-area legislators who consider any bill without a so-called public option to be a sellout. It was a microcosm of the political pressures facing Ms. Pelosi as she tries to steer the health care overhaul through the House, which could vote on its bill as early as Saturday, and then in a conference with the more conservative Senate. Her party’s liberal base and most House Democrats are demanding that she fight for their priorities, including both a government insurer and a squeeze on drug industry profits. ... And most health industry lobbyists, who have increased their contributions in an effort to maintain their access to her, are betting that behind the closed doors of the conference, she will yield to the Senate, which has so far resisted the public option and honored a political deal limiting the drug industry’s costs in an overhaul to $80 billion over 10 years. ... House liberals say such accommodation is what they fear.“We have already compromised some of the agenda, and the leaders rationalize that by saying,‘This is the best we could do,’” complained Representative Raúl M. Grijalva, an Arizona Democrat who is co-chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. And his party’s raising money from the health care industry, he said, only worries him more.“Their lobbying pressure around here is already at a maximum,” he said,“so to have them that much in the nest in terms of fund-raising only adds to the concern.” A spokesman for Ms. Pelosi said her role as House Democrats’ chief fund-raiser had no effect on her work as speaker. The House bill shows that “the speaker has put consumers first and taken a tough position against the insurance and drug industries,” said the spokesman, Nadeam Elshami. But industry lobbyists, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of alienating Ms. Pelosi, say they have stepped up their fund-raising for her all year with an eye to her pivotal role in the health care endgame, hoping to stay in her good graces and glean insights into her thinking. |
