Dennis Moore gets death threats over health insurance reform [Thoughts from Kansas]

Full story: ScienceBlogs

You will notice that it lacks definiteness; that it lacks purpose; that it lacks coherence; that it lacks a subject to talk about; that it is loose and wabbly; that it wanders around; that it loses itself early and does not find itself any more.

How can the ScienceBlog's article call Moore a 'blue-dog' Democrat, with this atrocious liberal voting record?

The "Blue Dogs" are a group of Dems who told the president they wouldn't guarantee to rubber stamp a health care proposal, unless he put out some specific information. Doesn't sound like a yellow dog democrat to me...at least not today.
(My uncle was a self described "yella-dawg" democrat.)

Anyway, Moore hasn't been missing from Washington recently, and I sure wouldn't do any public appearances, if in fact, there had been threats against him. I've met the man, and even though I'm Republican, I have very much respect for him. He's a decent human being...

If Dennis Moore is absent because of a legitimate threat I can't blame him.

Like John Q I have met him and think he's is a good man.

I don't like his politics, but I do believe he is sincere in what he believes.

However, the writer of the article that referred to Moore as a Blue Dog Democrat is totally out-of-his-mind.

Moore has been one of the most liberal voters in the House.
He is and has been towing the line and following the leadership of the Democratic party.

Truefully, they are his constituency, not us.

I write our politicians more then most people. He has always responded in a timely manner, telling me he does not agree with me, but he thinks we will agree one day.-:)- Uh, not really.

We can't go around threatening politicians because we don't agree with them, however we also can't sit idle while Socialist/Marxist thinking politicians attempt to take away our freedoms.

I also hope Moore didn't use the excuse of having received a threat, to avoid meeting with his REAL CONSTITUENTS, if it was not true.

If both Houses of Congress and the White House and the Cabinet and all the Czars, would be covered by the same National HealthCare Plan they're trying to shove down our throats, I wouldn't think ill of them.

But they place themselves above the citizens of this country - and I find that detestable.

That is way too elitist for my taste.

No politician should come to my townhall and tell me how well off me and my family will be, and how wonderful this HealtCare Plan is, but they are NOT GOING TO PARTICIPATE themselves!

It just doesn't sell.

Would you believe the Ford salesman when he tells you just how great the Ford pruducts are, and then you see him drive away in a Lincoln Towncar?

I have also met him. I wasn't referring to his character, but his voting record.

I agree. He always responds to my mail, and I have written to him many times and I have a folder with all his replies. He is frank about when he disagrees with me. He even sends me extra stuff at times in an attempt to prove why he voted a certain way. I understand Moore has canceled his town hall meetings.

How are we to know this is just not a ploy to isolate the congressman from the people who he is supposed to represent? I believe that he feels he cannot defend this ridiculous (7" thick, 13 1/2 lbs.!) and would embarrass himself if open to questions. His story of non-availabliity is apparently widespread throughout the country, as all the democrats are hard to find these days. Even Ted Kennedy is trying to change the Massachusetts law to allow a quick appointment of another bleeding liberal should he die before the health care bill comes up for a vote. They need all the votes they can get. God is with us and this panic driven mess will not be enacted as is.

"Washington will spend $33,880 per household in 2009 – the highest level in American history (adjusted for inflation), and nearly $8,000 per household more than last year," writes Heritage budget policy expert Brian Riedl. In his nationally-syndicated article, Riedl details the various government programs the taxpayer is and will be funding, and he tasks "taxpayers – and the next generation that will be paying nearly half of the bill –[to] decide for themselves if they're getting their money's worth."

Wow!! That's about 25% higher per family than the Bush Administation - which was evil and corrupt.

This makes OBAMA 25% more evil and corrupt then Bush.

At least it is going for better causes here at home, rather than an unnecessary war, sold to us with bogus info. How does that figure in your measurements for evil?

For someone who says you are not REALLY SURE about your Messiah, you do jump to his defense faster then even THE Bozo.

You guy, will spend,$8,000.00 per household more then what was spent last year.

Do you think that is some small some of money.

If so, get out your trusty calculator and run the number. Make sure it's a calculator that can go above eight figures.

You can't divert the conversation to Bush, we're talking about how lame your boyfriend is.

Dennis Moore needs to become his own man. He's a registered Democrat, but sways back and forth based upon who's in power. Pertaining to the National Health Bill - Considering it's impact and massive size, I would suggest everyone take time to analyzis this completely. Back in the mid 1960s, we passed Medicare into law. At that time, we thought ensuring proper health care for those over 65 was the right thing to do. But if you look back at the last 44 years, you'll see it that it has cost way more than it should. By having the Federal Government as the underwriter for health care, your setting us for mis-appropriation of funds.

Marie, Marie, Marie,

You wrote: "Like I said - you da one who brought up Ol' Dubya."

No I didn't! Not once did I mention Bush.

Here's what I wrote: "For someone who says you are not REALLY SURE about your Messiah, you do jump to his defense faster then even THE Bozo.

Your guy, will spend,$8,000.00 per household more then what was spent last year."

I was comparing spending. That's all. Nothing more.

I did refer to the amount spent last year, but that was done for two reasons.

1. It was a means to provide a benchmark to this years spending by Obama.
2. Spending was also a rallying cry for the Obama supporters when trying to link McCain with Bush. It worked.

For someone who says you are not REALLY SURE about your Messiah, you do jump to his defense faster then even THE Bozo.

You guy, will spend,$8,000.00 per household more then what was spent last year.

Marie, the destination of the spending has nothing to do with the very, very large debt that we are placing on future generations. You are so typical of an emotional, non thinking person.
