One of the world's most loved steam locomotives will haul public services on a Somerset railway for an entire week later this year. Following an agreement with the National Railway Museum, Flying Scotsman will arrive at the West Somerset Railway on Monday, September 4 and run public services from September 5 to 12, with a rest day on Friday, September 8. The train was originally built in Doncaster for the London and North Eastern Railway , emerging from the works on 24 February 1923 and initially numbered 1472.
