Millom Weight Watchers leader steps down after helping hundreds

AFTER helping more than 1,500 people to lose weight, a respected Weight Watchers leader from Millom is leaving following her co-leader's death. Sue Park, 42, of Churchill Drive, Millom, has been the leader of her local group for 18 years, becoming one of only two people in Cumbria to achieve Diamond status for the weight loss group.

Campaign to name baby found dead in Millom tip

A CAMPAIGN has begun to give a name to a baby found dead in a Millom tip - before the 25th anniversary of its discovery. The body of the boy was found badly burned and with both legs severed at the Redills tip, in Millom, on December 1, 1989.

Millom vandals cause hundreds of pounds worth of damage

An estimated 200 worth of damage was caused to the home in Holborn Hill overnight between Thursday September 4 and Friday September 5. A spokesman from Cumbria Police said: "The damage happened during the hours of darkness and it is not know if it was a specific or random act.

South Cumbria pair sentenced for their part in traumatic attack

THE victim of a violent homophobic assault was so traumatised by the experience that he is still receiving counselling eight months after the attack. The parents of Nathaniel Davies, 22, welcomed the sentence handed to Stuart Sharp yesterday after the New Year's Day assault.
