Bomb exploded on Seaton Carew beach
Seaton Carew beach in Hartlepool was closed by police after the discovery of the hand grenade by a council worker at around 9.50am. Police taped off the beach and the area near to the Rocket House car park, while specialists detonated the grenade near to the water's edge after partially burying it beneath the sand.
