This is all very well, however in East Cowes we feel held to ransom by Red Funnel when the traffic is backed up York Avenue and in case of the Bestival-gave the locals upwards of two hours to get from Crematorium Roundabout. It is impossible to drive down York Avenue some days to reach the doctors surgery, the floating bridge and the car park if needed. If Red funnel could also advise their customers that they should not come into East Cowes for at least an hour prior to sailing as WighLink does or organise additional marshalling at the Whippingham round-a-bout (where there is spare land) it could alleviate the pressure on the town which is only going to get worse when the Marina, Waitrose and new Health Centre is built. As we the residents understand from the latest Red funnel WebSite, there are no plans in place yet to organise the future traffic problems of East Cowes. When is someone going to look at this seriously - Councillors and Highways please help, this is getting serious.
