It seems rather unlikely anyone detain a journalist for those reasons. Arresting someone at Boryspil for doing a story on the Orthodox church and confiscating their film footage?
Somehow I doubt these are the facts.

Accreditation? So the issue is the officials at Kyiv Boryspil did not consider him to have ok'd it with the government?
This sounds more like a story about bureaucracy or "not filing the proper paperwork" than an international incident.

Hey, russia has confiscated files on katyn, holmodor and many other russian genocides. Perhaps that retard of a mayor should concentrate on these undemocratic actions.

Two wrongs definitely do not make a righ. How clearly is this illustrated here!!! You complain about journalists in Russia being discriminated against, however it seems that in your pristine, and perfect democracy set up by westreners using that phoney Orange Revolution, the Ukrainian WESTERN-LEANING GOVERNMENT IS leaning on Journalists and being discriminatory against Russians. So if this is true, then how is Ukraines Western puppet government superior to the Russian democratic government.

More double standards in glossing over those irregularies and prejudices Peter?

If it is okay for russians to kill muslims in russia and chechnya, send spies to britain to poisen and kill former agents of the FSB then it should be okay for the ukrainians to beat the living crap out of pro russian idiots in ukraine.

Agreed?

More people died in Ukraine since the collapse of USSR than during the holodomor. Retard of a mayor? Have you seen Moscow recently??? Apparently not!

I don't understand why you all bash Russia? They live the way they want to live and they don't bother you. Americans are the ones escalating conflict and Ukraine is just one good example of it.

So the "Comrade Reporters" did not file the proper paperwork upon entering the country and therefore fell afoul of the law. Not surpising when you think that most Russians think that they have the right to do whatever they want in Ukraine.
When I entered the country, I was required to fill out a registration form showing what my final destination in Ukraine was, what the purpose of my visit was, and so forth. It seemed like a lot of bureaucratic nonsense but I knew from a previous visit that it had to be done in order to get through passport control. The fact that I went right to the desk, filled out the form like I knew what I was doing, made my passage through Passport control and Customs a breeze. I feel so sorry for the Russian journalists who got trapped in their own attitude of "we can do whatever we want" NOT

You don't have a clue about what you are saying.

First of all, 6 to 9 million Ukrainians died during the Holomodor, maybe a few thousand since.

Second, A mayor of a city should not make such comments and remarks. What does he think he is some type of pseudo-president of a nation?

Thirdly, Democracy is different for everybody. Culture plays an important factor. But the basis for all democracy are open and fair elections. The rest is what people make of it.

A news organisation should be aware of paperwork involved in filing story in other country. Ukraine makes rules there.
What is purpose of making deal out of matter?

What is the purpose? Ask the mayor. Maybe he is trying to remove the foot which he so firmly stuck in his own mouth concerning the Crimea?

I do not accomodate Maroons( as Bugs Bunny would say) like you. The truth of the matter is journalists die everywhere including the United States.

CAlm down, and try to think of arguments which do not use name-calling and personal attacks.

Words of wisdom. The problems which are existing in the Former soviet union exist mainly because of some countries like the Baltics pushing hate and revenge and other countries in the west act like just because the Soviet Union fell that it is okay to encroach on Russia and push NATO which was created to fight the Warsaw PACT Which was dismantled over 20 years ago.

If the west and other countries and people like the Diaspora would back off, Russia and its former republics would find a way to get along.

Exactly! And do other nations' reporters have problems as well or was this a deliberate incident or part of the propoganda to help push NATO, on the UKRAINIANS.
