As a former dancer from the mid 1970's Soul Train has a special place in my heart.
Just last night I wrote a blog about it, as seeing The Best Of Soul Train has people making many inquiries.
My blog might express that the 70's era was more special to me, but that is the one I knew best.Change is welcomed, and new is good. Sometimes.
As long as the integrity of the show is not compromised.Yeah right!
It's their show and they will do as they wish.Actually the shows quality has been rapidly diminishing for quite some time.
But I just thought it, I never wrote it as I didn't want to sound like that kind of woman. The kind who did her thing when she was younger, then acted bitter when others did theirs.
But that's fact no mack.
Having grown up in the 50's I saw few faces that resembled mine on television. Not until Soul Train when there was a sea of Brothers and Sisters grooving did I finally feel a part of it even before I went to my first taping.
Also there was a myriad of talent from various musical genres at that time to feature as guests. There seems like slim picking these days.Sometimes the money makers are people like Little Booty Man and Big Toe Joe tatted and shot up and it doesn't appeal to me, and it doesn't have to.
It might have to be one of those relationships I let go, after holding on way too long. It's a new day and we shall see what happens.
