Bagpuss and Clangers co-creator Peter Firmin dies at the age of 89

Bagpuss and Clangers co-creator Peter Firmin has died at the age of 89, the show's production company Coolabi said in a statement. Born 11 December 1928, Firmin was the founder of Smallfilms, along with Oliver Postgate, and between them they created a number of popular children's TV programmes including The Saga of Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine, Bagpuss and Pogles' Wood.
