This is an amazing comic strip that has the "moral" lesson that everyday we as American Families can relate to. Yes, I did have tears in my eyes yesterday as I read the ending strip that reminds me that life's true meaning of God, Family and Country and especially the marriage committment For Better or Worse

This is the ONLY comic strip I've ever really read, because it was more true-to-life. I've grown so attached to the characters, that I cried when Grandpa Jim had his strokes & the heart attack, and also when I read today's strip. I'm sad to see the storyline end, but I'm curious to find out in what direction the strip is going to go. But I honestly believe that the strip cannot get any better than this...I can't wait to find out what happens next. Way to go, Lynn!

I must admit that I too have laughed and cried right alongside the Patterson family. This story began when I was just a baby so I have literally grown up with this comic strip. I have loved it since I was old enough to read and I feel so sad that the story is done. Congratulations Lynn on a very successful 29 years and good luck on your re-invention of the story. Thank you so much for reminding your readers that life is not always easy but is definitely something to laugh at.

I love this comic strip. One of the reasons why I read the Star Bulletin.

The final "For Better or For Worse" was actually the Sunday one that tells the futures of each character. Read it online if you want to find out how everyone turns out.

Wow what an amazing story! I knew there had been some changes in the strip that I didn't know if I liked - but I figured things must be going in the artist's life.

Though it is sad the artist is divorced when not realizing the road was turning that way- I will say a prayer that love will find her again! Maybe a greater love is just waiting for this talented artist!

I am so sad that Lynn Johnston has decided to end her wonderful strip. However, I am sure after 30 years she's ready to retire, her right :)
I have read this strip since discovering it when it became a new strip back in the late 70's, I was 8 years old or so. I followed it all, through the laughter and tears. I will miss this wonderful family of fiction that seems so real to us all. May Lynn be richly blessed in the rest of her years :)

Actually, the strip isn't quite ending.

She plans on adding new dialouge from the beginning of the strip. In essence, she's redoing the entire strip from the beginning.

Hello Lynn:

I received your "David, We're Pregnant" as a Baby shower gift 29 years ago. I knew immediately that it would be an ongoing influence, reflecting as it did my own life circumstances, as have your subsequent comic strip and books over these many years. In these you have given us humour, hope and a better understanding and acceptance of our own flawed selves and of others. More importantly, your art, combined with your social commentary has been influential on our society as a whole. I don't know which we've appreciated more - your art, your humour, your honesty or your compassion.

In the end, it really is all about the "life's work" and yours has been especially worthwhile.

Enjoy it, be proud of it and thank you for your decision to continue sharing it with all of us.
