Why are the parking lot companies. along the parade route, charging $5 to park, to watch the parade, when normally you can pay to park there for $1.50-$2.00. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.

GOD BLESS AMERICA AND ALL VETERANS! It's called an event charge on that parking lot fee... I remember the first time I encountered that fee ... My wife and I were taking the children to the ringling brothers circus...

'Billed as nation's 5th largest Veterans Day parade'

This is really sad that a city this size has a large parade knowing that there are many, many larger cities in the USA who don't even have a parade. This is such an important holiday, more important than other holidays with a parade. I thank every soldier and God bless you.

I must ask, who pays for this? For blocking off the roads? Security? We have no money and are in debt. Our current mayor is leaving now that she screwed things up worse....lets have a parade!

I somewhat agree with you on the fact that the city is broke.I also agree with you that the culprit responsible is largely Krappy Taylor !! The people providing the money for the Veterans Parade are you and I my friend, but if the city will pay for Gay folks prancing down the street,Do we not owe our Veterans as much??

Thanks to my fellow veterans ... from The Revolution to today!!

An interesting letter in the Australian Shooter Magazine, which I quote:

"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of
operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers"

The firearm death rate in Washington, D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period.

That means you are about 25 per cent more likely to be shot and killed in the US capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the US, than you are in Iraq .

Conclusion: The US should pull out of Washington!

I AM SO VERY PROUD OF MY BROTHER-IN-LAW PAUL ANDERT, THIS YEAR'S GRAND MARSHALL. FOR FIFTEEN YEARS HE HAS BEEN A SPOKESPERSON FOR ALL THE MEN WHO SERVED IN WW11. HE HAS WITH HIS COMRADES GONE TO COUNTLESS SCHOOLS AND RELATED EXPERIENCES IN THAT WAR. MANY OF THE YOUNG BOYS AND GIRLS HAVE WRITTEN TO THEM AND TOLD THEM HOW MUCH THEY APPRECIATED HEARING ABOUT THAT TIME IN HISTORY. PAUL AND FRIENDS RECEIVED SO MANY LETTERS THAT THERE IS A BOOK WITH THE LETTERS IN IT ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR VISITS. THESE ARE NOT YOUNG MEN AND HAVE SPENT YEARS LETTING THE YOUNGER GENERATION KNOW HOW WE RESPONDED WHEN PEARL HARBOR WAS BOMBED AND HOW PATRIOTIC THAT GENERATION WAS. OUR FAMILY SALUTES TULSA AND THE MILITARY FOR THE HONOR BESTOWED ON PAUL AND ALL WHO SERVED.

Thank you for allowing us to have in as the grand marshall... I had several family member in ww11 and the are all gone now...not many of them left ... age has a way of doing that...but if it weren't for those vets of world war 11 I am not sure what would have happened to this world...It certainly would be in worse shape than it is now...
