The Thai authorities arrested drug smugglers and seized more than one million methamphetamine during the past three days as drug smuggling along the borders with neighbouring countries is on the rise, Deputy Premier Chalerm Yubamrung said on Thursday.

More than one million methamphetamine pills were seized after a clash between a drug suppression patrol of the Pha Muang Force and smugglers in Mae Chan district of Chiang Rai province last night, police said.
