An interesting study. I especially liked the theory that "all people might be born with absolute pitch, but that a majority lose their absolute pitch abilities with age. Thus, an attractive hypothesis is that genetic factors might extend this neurodevelopmental window to a duration sufficient to intersect with the onset of musical training." All the more reason to play Brahms' Lullaby and other selections in infancy while that absolute pitch may still be in play.

The more we understand about the development and potential of humans, the more we can optimize how we all learn and use our gifts. Practice never hurts, though. That takes discipline, but I really think that my self discipline gene may be defective. Or perhaps I am just being lazy. It is awfully hot out to practice right now ...

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Sagittarius

Mercury turning retrograde in your house of finances carries a rather unseasonal message, because it's telling you to pay attention to your finances over the next few weeks. If you already know that you've overspent this month, you won't need to be told that a few economies are just around the corner. Get the facts straight and pay attention to the small print. You may also have to make some adjustments to an intimate relationship so it can move into another phase.
