When worlds collide: Microsoft funds Apache

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Traditionally, Microsoft doesn't like to share.

Actually, they are much different now and it's just a lingering perception. Microsoft invested in Apple, for example, when Steve Jobs came back. Apple, meanwhile, is the enemy of virtually every consumer with its onerous DRM and Google has a much greater monopoly than Microsoft ever had yet has the appearance of being a nice company.
