The bits and pieces of one of the most powerful empires that ever was. Were you a citizen during Pax Romana, you could never envision that anything could shake your word then.
We too today are in that complacent mode...."What me Worry' seems to be the currant attitude. Wonder what future civilizations will think of our grand garbage pile we leave behind. If any,of course, for it may be all incinerated, and does not leave a trace.Far fetched?? I do not think so. Julius Ceasar looked like an intelligent, and stern man in that bust.Contrary to what most think,he was assassinated for wanting to alleviate the hold the wealthy had over the poor.He was a threat to rich landowners. He could take on the Gauls, the Germans,The Swiss, pirates, rivials, and the Brits, but greed and corruption,at home, well thats a tough enemy.Always sounds familiar till today. AVE CEASAR! "Yet it will come the day decreed by fate, the day when tho imperial Troy must bend, and see thy warriors fall, and thy glories end" ...Homer |
|
You're full of CRAP! He was assassinated by a group of conspirators that had been formed against Caesar because they felt that he had too much power and that if he became the king of Rome he would become corrupt and use his powers to create a bad society. The senate resented his actual position that was shown in the sixty member conspiracy which Marcus Brutus had organized to kill him. There were upwards of 60 conspirators however, only 16 were confirmed. Your just another Liberal spewing Lies to be notice and trying to come off as all knowing. By the way Caesar is spelled as Caesar NOT Ceasar as you have spelled it. |

Daniel,Daniel, control your self. You sound like a guy with a personnel problem... Are you in pain? take a powder..more cocaine I think. The world of investgating historical thought is not predicated on who is a liberal or a conservative. For the record I'm A Barry Gold Water advocate since 64.So you stop your mindless name calling, "Crap"head" With one word you reduce a somewhat interesting topic to your level..A mindless blog, hiding behind anonymity. what a man! If you kept up with these mysteries you may learn something.I spent time in Rome, and far better qualified people than we, are interpreting this on going historical event for 2000yrs.. Its even possible Great Caesar orchestrated his own demise.he was very sick then.It was a Roman custom to go out "Your Way' No, William Shakespeare, was not the sole source of this incorrect, and Hollywood story. There are also angry Kooks like you who make mindless noise..Where are your credentials on this? what university did you learn this from? Who were your teachers? or did you get this from"classic Comics," We are talking about "Gaius Lulius Caesar" AKA..Kaisar,Tsar,Czar,and kral. I do not profess to an expert, but I do have an open mind when others put forth new evidence. So get your self a "joint"...try civility,Get A Holt of your self man!!... " use the Other half Of your brain"...However you spell a pinhead its still a pinhead! If you have something to discuss, with proof, why I'll listen..other wise get lost! |
|
Don't LIE to me about being a Conservative. Only a Liberal, such as yourself, would think a long list of credentials makes the Intelligence of a Man. There are Plenty of Academics out there known as Pointy Headed Professors. They have all this accumulated knowledge and still can't put it together. As far as Caesar being ill, he was ill for seven months after ascending the throne but, at the time of his death there is no mention of him being ill. For you to believe that he orchestrated his own demise by having himself stabbed 23 times....Get REAL! Do you think those Senators involved would put themselves at such Risk of punishment for Caesar? What a Phony Liberal DOLT you are. |

AAAW!! come on Daniel, call me red, call me blue, call me black, call me green, but please ,please, please, do not call me a Liberial....its to painful, inhuman that you should refer to me in that mean spirited way. Lets continue to call me ,or I call you civilized names. Its in the confines of the "Rules of insult".Of which you may have a diploma for.But insult fair..its a gentlemanly way to go. However if you persist in insulting dirty,I will have to unload on you. My friend its even to terrible for me to contemplate.Akin to getting string up by you balls.,my vicious tirades will make that a think that was a pleasure.LOL!! "Gaius Lulius Caesar",along with Hannibal,Alexander the great,Napoleon, and many of the ancients, are fascinating.Every day, they dig something up,and it changes preconceived ideas. What I was referring yo was a group of Italians historians, who, yes do have "Liberal" ideas coming up with that theory.I just thru it out for thought.Never realizing that some would get violent in their disagreement.Like calling it 'Crap' and insulting the messenger, using that foul word "liberal" as the ultimate insult....Heaven Forfend..I are no liberal. I have as I said been to Rome,a few times. It was my fathers home .So "I Are A Roman"in a way.It was with great interest to trace that event. Walk the very ground where it happened, you do feel something. Now you can review and believe a lot of stories about this subject. But like most accounts, you have to question who benefits what from which version. Now Daniel, lets see what your made of..Apoligize to me...say you were in error calling me a liberal,a cruel and perfidious insult....I will forgive yo..promise on my Roman soul!!If you do not,Ill have to take you to the Colosseum and spank your ASS!! "CUIUSVIS HOMINIS EST ERRARE NULLIUS NISI INSIPIENTIS IN ERRORE PERSEVERARE" Ciao Bambino! |
|
Ha Ha what a Laugh! You've been caught spewing ridiculous BS too many times. Your credibility is now, ZERO! So take a Hike......LIBERAL! |
|
I'm sorry for expecting more...like all you California weirdos.. your pathetic!..your inferiority complex just shines thru.....grow up! |

Bean, you cannot convince Daniel of anything. Not even that the sun shines at night. Don't waste your breath, or finger work, whichever. He lives in his own little world and doesn't visit reality often. You're going to get tired of conversing with him before he gets tired of you. |
Not Greece, Rome. Not bronze, marble. But yeh! |

Hi,its the nature of anonymity. The "Davids" like to thrive in this make beieve world.Of course we all do.I find it entertaining, educational,en lighting, often an interplay of thought.A place to "Bloviate' However some of the lads like to exercise their new found talents. Some excel at immaturity, and insult, but the majority are clear thinkers. They have opinions, while I may not agree with, they put forth good logical arguments.Hard to insult a good argument. That is good, they give civility a chance. Some get frustrated because they will not open their minds, and then resort to pouting, and insulting...as if that will inflate their alter ego.Well that only revels a shallow person. Hey,I harbor no ill will, you play with kids, you have to act like a kid.I'm always chuckling to my self ,having fun ,that is,when the dialog gets hot. After all it means nothing. That Milli second on the big screen is gone into cyberspace, forgotten! However for the thinking person ,he may review his stated thoughts for a moment. He may ask himself, what if I took that stance in the real world, eye to eye,up close. They may ask themselves will this be OK..for me? was I too hasty? did I make a fool of my self? Should I apologize? I do!!...Now apologizing is Verboton!..It may revel that you are a human being! heaven forfend we have that on here! I indistinctly use my test to evaluate a person on here.It served me well often,I ask myself "would I share "A fox hole With this guy?" Thanx for Letting me" bloviate "with you... Sorry we got off track with "Great Caesar!"Stay well, and yes of course Have fun |

That new bust of Caesar caught my attention. I first thought it had some remakable resemblances to the famous bust of Pompey.
Rome was not all that large in Caesar's time and the elite class was quite small. Do we know if they were related? |
|
I can be convinced with the TRUTH but, not with LIES! You and Bean are Liberals. You Easy Believing Liberals not only LIE but, you Easily Believe the LIES. That's something you Liberals are GOOD AT! |
|
Rome was not all that large in Caesar's time? It was not at it's height but, it's reach was from Britain to the Mid East. "I came, I saw, I conquered" That's a famous quote from Caesar speaking of England. |
|
A good likeness of Pompey here.See what you think now...Understanding those sculptors had to make the work flattering to their host! It involved $$$ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pompey |

I happen to be on the conservative side of middle-of-the-road in my politics. That might qualify as liberal to the right-wingers like you. I am not paranoid like you. Just remember: just because you are paranoid does NOT mean the world is not out to get you. |
I'm not Paranoid......I'm Vigilant! GOD says, " You must Question, Question Everything for the World is filled with Deceit". So....I try to Question before I accept the word of Man. No Insult is meant by this practice. When, I find someone is incorrect, I sometimes let him know about it. Especially, if someone is willfully Incorrect. I call them as I see them. If the Truth is insulting to them....so be IT! |
|
so am I ,a card carrying conservitive...but whats that got to do about anything?? some of my best friends are Liberal!!LOL!!(I vote for bush,my wife votes for gore) However when dealing with "macadam nuts,"its best not to acknowledge them.Their insecurity needs love and affection...probley an abused child!..disturbed boys like that should get medical help. In the real world,I would think, someone like that is subject to some severe, intense, consideration.T hat in the sun,and not hiding in their bedroom,in their shorts.I'll not comment on those types any more, hope you do the same...often they dry up and go away ..to another blog and annoy people there. This Caesar topix is interesting, hate to have to leave it,because of the "nuts" but of course I won't......So Long! |
