High-speed rail advocates say $8B is just a start

Communities and companies seeking to build high-speed rail systems haven't yet received the $8 billion in stimulus money the Obama administration promised for the projects, and already they want more _ a lot more.

First off there is no reason to spend one thin dime of taxpayer money on high speed rail. If the companies and people demanding it can raise their own private funding then go get them. But, the last thing we need in PA is to waste taxpayers money on projects that can never make it without annual revenue pumped in from taxpayers. Make it on your own or stay out of the business.

America needs more commuter railways. Highspeed or not. You can go almost anywhere in Japan by rail.No need to even own a car there. We are behind the times.

Railroads take decades to build.
If you're not 25 years old, you'll never live to see any of it. Even then........it's a close call.
