Never could figure out why I keep hearing these stories about college & university enrollment increases when the doomsayers keep prophesying falling enrollment and the failure of Oregon's system of higher education if we don't pony up more taxes and increase student subsidies and decrease tuition. We've had this beaten into our heads for a long time, and it's been going on for more decades than I care to rememember. Could these occasionally reports of success be somehow proving that throwing more money at education is the cure-all? Naaaaaa..... couldn't be.
