if people feel secure enough to do their banking why not voting.at least then we might see something done about on-line identity theft.

I agree that online banking is done as well as online purchases but there would have to be a verification process before the registration is validated. A person would have to submit their social security number, driver's license number, etc. and then when they came to vote, show that picture ID before casting the vote. Something needs to be done to validate the process (even with mail in registrations).
Most places where I shop ask for a picture ID before I can cash a check, shouldn't voting booths be at least as strict or careful in who they grant privileges to? |

Forget it. Even if they can fraud-proof such a system, it opens up the perception of fraud which is just as bad.

the state of oregon doesn't even have polling places, everything is done by mail.yet it is believed by both sides that they have less than average voter fraud.maybe it is time to explore other options.

Absent having someone put a fingerprint on a ballot when they submit it, I don't see how you can prevent against fraud unless the actual person shows up and presents ID. And even then .. |

i don't claim to understand how all of it works up there,i never lived in oregon.however both side DO claim that not only does the state have less than average fraud,if you check their voter turnout it really puts the rest of us to shame.if it were so easy to fake you would think losers would file suits claiming that but they don't.party bosses never challenge votes or signatures, however they do it,it seems to be working |
