Ryan Shelby charged with killing Alexis Oesterle

I hope that ryan shelby gets death. I didnt know her personally but I knew who she was, Noone deserves that I cant see how the people that hurt kids or anyone can live with their selves. My heart goes out to her family.

I was a friend of Ryans and this whole thing breaks my heart. I have been unable to wrap my mind around it and I feel for both families. I hope people see this and realize that if they are struggling with issues they need to seek help before it turns tragic.

aLEXIS WAS MY BEST FRIEND!! See I moved here from a different town and she was the only on there for me when ever I came into the school. She was unlike all the other girls at school, she dd'nt care what people thought about her! All I can say is that I hope Ryan gets what he deserves and I hope the two familys can keep there heads up and stay strong!!!

I know little Lexi and Jessica her mom... they are both beautiful people... Ryan should NOT get the death penalty he should stay in jail till he rots I hope he gets the crap knocked out of him everyday.... I hope justice is served!!!! Jessica is a loving mother she would give her life for her baby... lexi means everything to her... Fight Jessica Fight like hell.... I know Ryan and none of the stuff they are saying about him is true. Look at all the 911 calls only one is from Ryan all of the others are from Alexis calling about her and her mother fighting or Jessica calling saying her and Alexis are fighting, it's on police records. There is nothing in any police report saying Ryan was abusing his baby, Ryan is a very loving father, he would NEVER HURT HIS BABY OR ANYONE ELSE. I feel really bad about Alexis and I pray she is at peace with God...... Ryan is a really good father,son,brother,nephew, cousin,friend,etc,,,,,,, Ryan's family,church,friends and community are behind him,Ryan has lived there his whole life, people know Ryan and his family they are very respected people. The truth will come out, the truth will be known. Ryan we love you and we are all behind you 100%. I hope the police are still conducting an investigation, because something just doesn't sound right about a lot of things regarding this,Where was Alexis's mother when she went missing, there is no way i would of not called the police right away if my child did not come home and i didn't know where she was!!!!!!!!!!

Me and Alexis were really good friends we were bestfriends all through elementary school..we used to sit on the bus in like 3rd grade and sing together..i remember our fifth grade field trip to the zoo me and her sure did have some fun..I love you Alexis maybe gone but never will be forgotten<3

You know I didnt like the comment that debbie ryans aunt wrote that mother ------ deserves what he gets. yeah he really is a loving father so that means he can kill his step daughter. I dont think so. I live in rockport. Its a small town I didnt think that nothing like that can happen here but I was wrong. I wanted him to get death but I just want him to get life so he can get the hell beat out of him everyday that he is there. That poor girl will never be able to grow up have a family of her own to enjoy things in life that f----- to it away. But he better pray to God that he foregives him. I worked with him when I was in the navy and all of the people i still keep in touch with are shocked at what happened. Most of them however said that they could kind of see how he might do something like that.

I was stationed with Ryan in Virginia Beach while we were in the Navy. How is it that his own Aunt could say he lived there his whole life, when he lived in Virginia for at least 3 years that I know of. Since he admitted to doing it, you might as well stop the charades now, your lies on his behalf will only sink any chance he has of not getting the death penalty! Anyone that does this to their own family DESERVES the death penalty after all!

I worked with Shelby in the VF101 IWT shop for a couple of years so "Ex Navy" and "Shocked" I probably worked with you too. I would describe him as a guy I would let my sister date, he was pretty smart, funny, a jokster, a smart ass just like the rest of us. I have not seen him for about 5 yrs since he got out but the Shelby I knew would never do this in cold blood. Everyone I've spoken to about this says the same, however, I could see him doing this to someone that threatened his loved ones just as most men would. We dont know exactly what he admitted to and I believe any human being can be DRIVEN to kill but I dont believe he just woke up that morning and thought "I'm gonna kill my stepdaughter today". Any way you look at it, it sucks because one little girl is dead and a father of 2 is probably never gonna see the light of day again.

I am in total shock at this. I worked with him at VF-101 and he was a mentor to me...I was brand new in the navy and he actually taught me many things about being a sailor, and a good technician. He always spoke highly of his kids. I could never have pictured him doing this. Reading the report and watching the news broadcast is seems like a terrible dream. My deepest sympathies go out to all the people effected by this. I hope everyone finds healing. This is surreal.

They are not the same people. I share your shock and also knew him from Virginia. My heart goes out to all that are affected.

I don't think Jessica and India are the same person. I knew both Ryan and India and while India had a daughter I don't think she would be 15 years old already. Does anyone know what happened to India? I thought she and Ryan had a son together.

As many here have said, "I worked with Ryan" during the last part of my Navy/contractor years in Virginia Beach. Ryan seemed to be your adverage navy joe, basically a good guy trying to make it inthis day and age. For any of us to set ourselves so high as become judge, jury and head hunter is shamefully sad (Ex Navy and Shocked). Why don't we all just shut up, keep the negative opintions to a dull roar and wait for a truth of the facts. Last thought: Have any of you been in this situation?

"VF101AT" Shelby and India split up a couple years ago and she took Tyler with her. Jessica is his second wife.

Whether we are currently serving, a veteran or a navycontractor - it is sad to see someone that held such high esteem do or be convicted of a crime of this nature. India and Tyler are fine and moved on with their life many years ago. However, there are now 2 families left to grieve and mourn their losses. Jessica lost her daughter and the Shelby's lost their son. I would like to agree with OldSchoolNavy, let's keep them in our prayers and let our justice department do it's job --- because hopefully and thankfully --- we haven't been in this situation.
