i played for russell otis his first year at dominguez high. i can recall that he did have special relationships with certain players on my team. some of these favorite players would leave campus with coach otis during class time and would no appear back on campus until later that day. my teammates would wonder why those players got to leave campus and basically hang out until practice later. one player "dijon" got more attetion than anyone. and he clearly was not the most talented on the team. so it makes sense to me that he is now being suspected of sexually luring certain kids on his team. i can see it replaying in my head. justin marsh player 1987-1988 dominguez high..........

Dijon didn't do as well in his adult life as the other players on that team did, that didn't get
Russells"special attention". He had so many strikes against from the start, Russell used it to his advantage... He was a good kid..So sad. |

Juror, thanks for your input and your jury service. I can see where the reasonable doubt arose.

This is really a sad scenario when a person has been brought up on the same charges twice and each time walk away without any penalty. What about the embarrassment these young men have suffered to bring this preditor to the forefront and you say that they are lying! Where is the justice in that? This Otis is not innocent! You call him a hero but he is nothing but a preditor preying on children that he purposely pursue who don't have much, most often not even parental support. Otherwise he would choose his victims from a more afluent background. And you can believe he would not get off without a harsh penalty. Why didn't he take the job at SC?

Uh, Otis was found guilty and he is awaiting sentencing where I'm sure he will receive soe sort of penalty. Also, he won't be able to teach or coach kids again, and that's a significant penalty. |

Otis is a good person and I'm sadden that all this had happened to him. I hope his appeal is overturned and he can move on with his life.

So let me get this straight evamae, you think it is OK for a 46 year old coach to text message a 15 year old child till 2 or 3 oclock IN THE MORNING night after night?!?!?!? How does that support your position that he is a "good person"? Makes no sense to me. If you feel that is OK, then I am glad you are not my mom.
