I wonder if this place is falling victim to gas prices. The hope was to draw people from throughout the region I'm sure, but it's 45 minutes from Hartford. Who wants to drive that anymore?

Good luck to the potential new owners. Ice arenas are a risky business. With energy costs sky high and youth hockey on a decline I'd be investing elsewhere.

This is a sure sign of a poor economy. Even the wealthy can't bring Trey and Amanda to skate.

Hocky and figure skating are sports that costs alot of money and in an economy like this, its probably hard to turn a profit. The owners of these rinks need to realize that the teams that play at their rinks and the kids who compete in skating spend many of their days and lots of their families money at their businesses and are supporting their businesses. They need to realize that without the kids, their business will suffer. I have seen it in Cromwell and other places. They charge kids $16 an hour in Simsbury for ice time. 0h, their hour is only 50 minutes, not 60. So I dont feel sorry for the "developer" and you shouldnt either!

That's gymnastics. The original owners of the place got into trouble for fraud about a year after the 2002 Winter Olympics. I'm not surprised that they're selling the place, just surprised that it's taken this long to do it.

And both Shizuka Arakawa and Alexei Yagudin are Olympic Champions, so they should be included with the rest instead of in the World Champion list only.

SPRAWL. This rink should have been built near the Univ. of Hartford like it was originally meant to. Now it's in the middle of nowhere, not the best place is it?

This skating rink was the center for scandal, but it handled under sealed court documents. The same rink manager also went to the Newington Skate center and had trouble there as well.

And I bet Tom Vincet is to blam somehow...Ms Coe!!!
