Sails up for Olympic Sailing
The boats are in the water, the sailors are there and the algae has been removed, it’s time to set sails for the Summer Olympic Games. Sailing events, which are making their 24th appearance at the Olympics, will draw 464 athletes from 65 countries.
The sailing venue is in Qingdao, a coastal city about 300 miles southwest o f Beijing is in the Shandong Province on the Yellow Sea to the east and south. It is the only host city besides Beijing to hold opening and closing ceremonies. is one of six cities outside Beijing to host Olympic events.
