RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has smashed sculptures of horses erected on a roundabout in the southwest after the kingdom's top cleric denounced them as sinful, local media reported yesterday.

According to the ministry's statement published by SPA News Agency, one of the convicts, Shuwail al-Amri was found guilty of deliberately running a car over his relative, Mohammed al-Amri, following a dispute between the two.

Five Yemenis convicted of murder and robbery were executed in Saudi Arabia and their bodies displayed in public in the southwestern town of Jizan.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia on Tuesday executed five Yemenis and displayed their bodies in public for killing a national and forming a gang that committed robberies across several towns in the kingdom, the interior ministry said.
