You know what? Here's what I think of this whole "confusion about science" bullshit:

There's confusion over too/to/two. There's confusion over there/their/they're. There's confusion about how to spell convenience, refrigerator, and laundromat. There's confusion over the use of the apostrophe as a pluralizer.

However, do the functionally literate but grammatically retarded people get to dictate what does and does not count as proper grammar? NO!

I don't give two flying shits that the idiot across the room from me thinks it should be "Me and him went too the store, and while we were their the manager gave to of there pen's two he and I," because it's WRONG!

His confusion doesn't impart doubt upon the actual grammatically correct writing of that sentence. A person's ignorance isn't a shortcoming of factual information. Confusion doesn't change facts; it merely distorts them in the minds of the ignorant.

Firstly, evlolution wasn't ever promoted simply as an argument against the Bible; it is simply a conclusion reached based on the data gathered. There is nothing (fundamentalist documents excluded), which states that accepting evolution automatically means a person cannot believe in some form of deity. Secondly, if you say that there are skeletons of giants hidden in the basement of the Smithsonian you need to provide evidence, not just hearsay. I do, however, agree with you that most people want to be told what to think and what to believe. Too many people are afraid to open themselve up enough to actually learn and think for themselves. A good example of this is Plato's allegory of the Cave (if you don't know it look it up; too much to explain here).

Fantasyland! It had nothing to do with the Bible...

The discovery of Evolution was a natural development of the geologic and biologic discoveries of the 18th and 19th centuries. The changes in life form over long stretches of time became obvious to geologists and paleontologists; the knowledge was valuable in engineering works of the time. You should take a class in historical geology to clear those silly concepts out of your head!

And of course, you jut KNOW that there are hidden giants, etc, right?

The human\Dino footprints, BTW, are hoaxes, or just errors by amateurs. The funniest claims are those by Carl Baugh (a WELL known fraud) and a few others at Glen Rose in Texas. There, tracks THEY claimed were human are CLEARLY Dinosaur foot prints. This became clear after the tracks weathered a bit, revealing the Dino claws on the previously declared "human footprints"!

It's not evolution if it's not scientifically based on observation and experimentation,i.e. empirical data. Creationism, eh, I gave up reading fairy tales a while back when I shook off other useless superstitions.

The Royal Society, the group Darwin eventually won over, roundly mocked Darwin's theory and adamantly insisted that creationism was true. The creationists were the majority, and had the majority of the money. Darwin's theory was believed by the minority until the majority could no longer deny the power of the empirical evidence. What you're saying, essentially, is that the people who so vehemently claimed belief in the Bible were the very people who sought to discredit the Bible. So...care to try again?
