Attorney General Mark R. Herring today announced that more than 3,000 Virginia borrowers are expected to receive up to $2.42 million in direct payments, and more Virginia borrowers will be eligible for loan modification and other relief, as part of a $470 million joint state-federal settlement with mortgage lender and servicer HSBC to address mortgage origination, servicing, and foreclosure abuses.
