The Hilton Lisle/Naperville -- one of DuPage County's largest hotels -- is facing foreclosure after the property's owner failed to pay a loan that recently came due, according to a lawsuit. U.S. National Bank Association has filed the foreclosure lawsuit against Fireside West of Delaware LLC, which owns the 309-room hotel in Lisle. Comment?

While the planned redevelopment of Chicago's iconic Tribune Tower has reportedly been on the table for a while, an upcoming sale of the 1925 neo-Gothic high-rise could see the landmarked structure repurposed as condos, rentals, or a hotel. According to Crain's , a developer could pay between $230 million to $260 million for the tower, its low-rise annex structure, and an undeveloped parking lot immediately to the east. Comment?

Chicago-area home prices no longer are climbing at the sharp pace recorded in the spring, but both prices and sales continued modest gains in June. Compared with a year ago, the median price of an existing single-family home or condominium sold in the nine-county Chicago area in June climbed 4.6 percent, to $242,500, the Illinois Realtors reported Thursday. July 21 - Statewide sales and median prices are still on the rise as the Illinois housing market has rounded out a strong first half of the year. According to a report by Illinois REALTORS, statewide home sales in June 2016 totaled 18,593 homes sold, which is up 1.4 percent compared to June of 2015. Comment?
