Home sales and home prices in Central Virginia rose last year from the previous year, underscoring the strength of the housing recovery, according to a report released this morning by the Richmond Association of Realtors. The number of sales in the region increased 11.4 percent in 2013 from 2012 and rose 8 percent in the fourth quarter from the year-earlier period Residential real estate sales in Virginia surged in November, rising almost 20 percent in value from the same month a year ago, the Virginia Association of Realtors reported Thursday.
