If you want to build or own a so-called tiny house, also known as a micro home, you should be able to do so, right? Not necessarily, according to Kitsap County Department of Community Development. The county considers such houses "mobile" homes, and a cluster of tiny houses would be considered a mobile home park - and no more of those are allowed in the county. Comment?

About 80 percent of the homes coming on the market in King and Snohomish counties are selling within the first 30 days. Just as expected, the month of May had an uptick in new listings , but just as many buyers made offers on homes during the month to keep inventory depleted, according to the latest figures from Northwest Multiple Listing Service that covers 23 counties in the state. In response to the growing need for affordable housing in the City of Poulsbo, Housing Kitsap and Sound West Group are looking at the feasibility of building affordable rent apartments at 19647 Viking Ave. The property, just south of Fishline, was once the site of Golden Homes of Poulsbo. "It is a very exciting time but very early in the process," said Wes Larson, one of the principal partners of the Sound West Group. Comment?

Home sales around Western Washington continued at a torrid pace during June, but a 10 percent year-over-year increase in new listings has some brokers with Northwest Multiple Listing Service suggesting a little relief may be emerging.
