The local RE/MAX R wrote this morning to let us know its local agents will be giving up a portion of their commissions to help out Algoma Residential Community Hospice. Each agent is set up to donate an unspecified dollar amount from each of their closings, which the company says allows agents to decide to increase the amount of the donation for larger closing values. Documents which caused a stir for Sault MPP David Orazietti at Queen's Park Monday were actually unfinished, draft copies sent in error to the Progressive Conservatives and seized upon by the opposition to create political drama, Orazietti has told SooToday. "The opposition was sent, in error, a draft memo by Government and Consumer Services staff to their constituency officethe individual who sent the memo was working with that constituency office to provide support on another issue, and in error sent that memo," Orazietti said. A Detroit-based group of activists and university professors said the city's policy of shutting off water to those who don't pay water bills is driving residents from their homes and exacerbating the city's foreclosure crisis. Detached housing sales have plunged 84 per cent on Vancouver's west side and are down 88 per cent in Richmond during the first two weeks of August compared to the same period in 2015.
