Looks like medical marijuana has cleared a major legal hurdle after an administrative law judge in Tallahassee dismissed the final challenge to a law permitting "Charlotte's Web," a strain of marijuana used for medical purposes that has very little THC - the ingredient that that gets you high. Now the state can work on a statewide medical marijuana program that, as approved by the Legislature in 2014, allows five companies to grow the low-THC marijuana and sell it as medicine, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta announced today that it has awarded more than $2.6 million to assist in the funding of nine affordable housing initiatives in Florida as part of its 2015 Affordable Housing Program . The awarded initiatives, which are located in Avon Park, Fort Myers, Citrus County, Immokalee, Miami, St. Augustine, Arcadia, Jacksonville, and Port St. Joe, support the construction and rehabilitation of housing for veterans and very low- to moderate-income individuals.
