TRENTON - Sen. Shirley Turner's bill that would provide financial incentive for city employees to live where they work, including in Trenton, is the closest it's ever come to becoming law. In the latest chapter of a 14-year legislative odyssey, the bill - which would provide police officers, firefighters, teachers and sanitation workers a $10,000 zero-interest loan to purchase or renovate a home in the city where they work - passed the Senate last week and is under discussion in an Assembly committee.
