Metrostudy's Home Building Outlook for 2Q 2016 predicts "U.S. housing starts...to advance gradually and hit 1.18 million this year, with 813,000 of those being single family homes as defined by the Commerce Department," Mark Boud writes for ProSales' sister publication, Builder. Orlando isn't alone in experiencing a downturn in home sales during what is usually the peak summer buying months, a new report shows. Home sales for Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties dropped 6 percent to 3,108 in July from a year earlier and by a similar rate from a month earlier, according to data from Florida Realtors.
