Volusia County property values increased for the third straight year and remain in line with preliminary estimates released last month. The county's just value - a figure that shows the state of the local real estate market - increased by more than $3 billion or 7.8 percent, according to tax roll findings released Monday. Comment?

The oceanfront house in the foreground at 25 Ocean Shore Blvd. in Ormond Beach recently sold for $850,000 to a family from Indianapolis, Indiana, who plan to split their time between the two cities, according to Al Pena, a Realtor with Oceans Luxury Realty who represented the buyers. The four-bedroom, 2 1/2-bath house was built in 1910 and includes a large garage and pool. Comment?

The Volusia-Flagler area saw foreclosure activity fall nearly 47 percent in May, compared with the same month a year ago, according to a new national report. Despite that decline, the combined two-county metro area, identified in the report as "Deltona-Daytona Beach-Ormond Beach," had the nation's 16th highest ratio of homes in some stage of foreclosure, according to Irvine, California-based RealtyTrac.
