Last month's record snowfall kept a lot of houses off the market in West Michigan, according to the November statistics published by the Grand Rapids Association of Realtors . New listings were down nearly 25 percent over November 2013, which also saw an early arrival of winter, according to the latest GRAR monthly sales report. Comment?

Housing starts in West Michigan's Lakeshore region stalled during the third quarter of the year, according to the latest issue of Builder Track Quarterlies. Homebuilders started 287 single family homes compared to 313 starts in the third quarter of 2013, according to Builder Track, which monitors building starts in Ottawa and Muskegon counties and the Lakeshore townships in Allegan and Berrien and VanBuren counties. China's real estate market continued to weaken but with narrowing price drops in March, leaving analysts to expect a further rebound with new relaxed mortgage rules.
