Yep, even now, five years after the end of the foreclosure crisis, when the housing market is so hot there are bidding wars over some houses, Cuyahoga County has more than 20,000 vacant homes, about 8,500 of them outside Cleveland and East Cleveland. A pair of central Ohio lawmakers are proposing $5,000 grants to help people make their homes more accessible, while advocates for the disabled say a new study shows people appreciate those modifications more than some might think. A growing number of baby boomers are aging and having difficulty getting around, but the Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council says few homes have been built with "visitable" features such as wider doorways, sloped entrances and first-floor bathrooms. An Ottawa County jury has found Ohio Rep. Steven Kraus guilty of a felony count of theft, which means he will be removed from office. Kraus, , 55, was convicted this afternoon of theft, which is a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly going into a Danbury Township house and removing antiques. Comment?
