Carrollton officials say there is a bit of a construction "boom" with more permits issued for the construction of single-family homes in the first six months of 2016 than there were in all of last year. City Manager Tim Grizzard said that if the trend continues, it is likely that Carrollton will finish with more permits issued this year than the past several years combined. Comment?

Fannie Mae accused of racial discrimination for neglect of foreclosures in Toledo and more than 200 other U.S. cities Dec. 5, 2016: Today, Toledo Fair Housing Center joined the National Fair Housing Alliance and 19 other local fair housing organizations from across the United States-including additional cities in Ohio and Michigan-file a housing discrimination lawsuit against Fannie Mae in federal district court in San Francisco, California. The lawsuit alleges that Fannie Mae fails to maintain its foreclosures in middle- and working-class African-American and Latino neighborhoods to the same level of quality as it does for foreclosures it owns in white middle- and working-class neighborhoods.
