The number of houses sold in Arkansas in the first half of 2016 surpassed pre-recession totals, according to statistics released Thursday by the Arkansas Realtors Association. For the first half of the year, 16,370 homes were sold in the 43-county area surveyed by the association. Comment?

Arkansas's landlord tenant laws work well for honest landlords, too well for slumlords, and they don't work at all for honest tenants. Disputes between landlords and tenants are inevitable, and Arkansas needs laws that capture the worst players on both sides without abandoning good tenants or overburdening good landlords. Comment?

British Columbia's measures to cool off North America's hottest real estate market are starting to have the desired effect. Early data from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver suggest the 15 percent foreign buyer's tax, which was unveiled July 25 and took effect Aug. 2 , may be curbing sales and limiting price gains, adding to a slowdown that started in May amid concern a housing bubble was forming in Canada's third-biggest city. The Real Estate Agents Disciplinary Tribunal cancelled former Barfoot & Thompson Papatoetoe salesperson Aaron Hughes' licence and suspended the licence of former branch manager until June 24 next year. If you think the crash in the housing market here in wyominga only took off in the last yeara industry forecasters say it's been with us since 2007, but since the housing bust 9 years ago the rest of the country has slowly been recovering. The market here in wyoming is seeing a bit of a different trend and experts say it's due to the oil and energy layoff's. Comment?
