Foreclosure activity continues to decline in Ohio, but a recent spike in foreclosure filings locally and in other parts of the country reflects a national housing market that hasn't fully recovered from the crisis that set off the Great Recession more than seven years ago. The number of Ohio properties with foreclosure filings -- such as default notices, scheduled auctions and bank repossessions -- fell by about 9 percent in the third quarter, compared to the July-August period a year ago, according to California-based housing analytic firm RealtyTrac.
