The owner of Gallery at Military Circle mall in Norfolk is behind on the loan it used to buy the property in 2004, and a company hired to protect investors decided to foreclose, The Virginian-Pilot reports. The 45-year-old mall has already lost major anchors JCPenney and Sears and the owner owes more on the property than it is worth. Comment?

An analysis by The Associated Press shows that about one in five Virginia legislators has at least $50,000 in personal debt besides a mortgage. But for most of the debts the public currently has no way of knowing whether their elected officials are carrying a car loan or a mountain of credit card bills similar to what prosecutors suggested helped drive former Gov.
