Bank of America has agreed to pay $31 million to settle a class action lawsuit that claims mortgage borrowers were forced to maintain excessive flood insurance coverage. A proposal for purchase of McMinnville's Jandina Park Apartment Complex, where 24 of 36 units are federally subsidized, has been submitted to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's rural development arm. A US judge has ruled against investors who are trying to collect billions of dollars in profits of government-chartered mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
